Travel

The fastest and most comfortable way to travel to Lithuania is by plane. Frequent flights operate between Vilnius or Kaunas and most European capitals. Vilnius airport is 5 km south of the city centre. There is a good bus and taxi connection with the city centre.

Visas

Lithuania joined the Schengen Agreement on 21 December 2007 for overland entry points and seaports, and will join on 29 March 2008 for airports.
EU nationals holding a valid national ID card are not obliged to have a passport when coming to Lithuania. Otherwise, passport valid for at least three months beyond length of stay is required by all other non-EU citizens.

Vilnius            

Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, the largest and one of the most beautiful cities in the country. It is situated 300 km to the East of the Baltic seashore at the confluence of the Neris and Vilnele rivers surrounded by beautiful hills.
Population of Vilnius is 542.287.00 (according to 2001 census, 57.8% of them are Lithuanians, 18% – Poles, 14% – Russians, 4% – Belorussians, 1.3% – Ukranians, 1.4% – others.
The old town of Vilnius is truly amazing. It combines a wide variety of all European architectural styles, which makes the town extremely attractive and cozy. In1994, for its unique old town Vilnius was included into the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage.
